Wildcat with Spitfire

 

I finally painted a new Infinity model. And one of my favourite units, Wildcats. First picture is a comparison of the new Spitfire model with the out of production one.

At first I thought it would be a simple paint job, as the new version looks pretty similar to the old one. But while painting I started noticing more and more differences between them. I tried to have some uniformity (like the asymmetric knee caps), but it was a lot of new stuff still.

Doctor Rudolph Van Richten

 

The intrepid vampire hunter, Dr Rudolph Van Richten. In my campaign, a witch hunter from Ostermark. I painted this model earlier in the year, but it took until October for him to make his campaign debut and until now for me to photograph him.

Kromlech base toppers

I am impressed with Kromlech HDF base toppers. They're a lot better looking in person than in the online store. I especially like the varied textures.

Here compared with Zen Terrain ones, which are IMO too thick (3 mm vs 1.5 mm).

Now they just need to make 55 mm ones for bigger Infinity models.

 

Skeleton 3, 4, 5; Zombie 1, 2

 

I managed to paint some undead over the weekend. Building up my skills and confidence unitl I tackle the vampire lord. I misplaced my tufts again though.

Zombies are Reaper and skeletons are old Warhammer with Oathmark swords.

Classic Orc 1

 

Reaper Bones USA Orc from Bones 5 (Dungeon Dwellers expansion). As I post Bones 6 is supposed to launch and all I managed to paint is this guy. But at least now I know how brush on primer works.

I tried to evoke that oldschool art vibe.

The Mad Mage

 

An NPC for Curse of Strahd campaign. Which wasn't what I built this guy for (otherwise I would give him a staff instead of the jewel), but that's what I'm going to use his as.

Model is from Frostgrave Wizards kit by North Star.

Goblin Cutter

 

Another 3D printed small race that was sent to me larger than a 28-32 mm human.

If I ever play a goblin, it's going to be a rogue called Redcap.

Yes, I completely neglected this blog. I also mostly neglected painting in 2021, so it checks out.
