Alguacile Girls

Back when I started this blog I said my main focus is Infinity. Funny how only now I actually post some Infinity models.

Goblin Archer in Pink Hood

Long time without posting! Just a goblin archer bought from Mirliton (don't know the original company, probably Grenadier). I really wanted one to have some pink on him, so I gave him a pink hood.

Evil Altar

Not really a "miniature", it's various bits and bobs from a DIY jewelry store mixed with some basing accessories. I saw the skulls and inspiration stuck.
I grabbed the bracelet parts to make something silly out of and then I saw the perfect altar-shaped stone.
Now I have a great objective marker, piece of scenery for D&D or Sacred Ground for SAGA: AoM.
The small rocks and tufts are from Warlord and the pieces of wood are from KK Gaming solutions.

Polish Home Army Squad Leader WIP

My first historical mini, a Warsaw uprising Polish soldier; a result of a "paint night" event from last Saturday evening. Not bad for three hours.
Tagging it as WIP because his weapon is missing. I have it on sprue, but it seems to be missing part of the strap that is supposed to go under his hand. See what I mean here [Rado Miniatures]

WIP Phoenix

I thought I'd show you what I'm working on.
The model is Phoenix from Wolsung Miniatures game (I believe by MicroArt Studio), whom I'm painting as a half-robotic Githyanki. Mostly because I got the mage earlier and plan to make him a Githzerai.

I want to make all the robot parts NMM. Wish me luck.

Endtown Skirmish Game

Endtown is a weird webcomic about post-apocalypse where people mutated into animals try to survive on beans as people clad in sealed suits hunt them. While I am sure an existing system could be used to make a game in this universe, I had a spark of inspiration how to do it myself.

Wizard!

Wizard!
I realized I have a lot of female spellcaster types (either Dark Sword or Puppetswar), but I don't actually have a standard beardy, pointy-hat style wizard. He even has a staff with a knob on the end!
Now the question is, what colour do I give him? Red? Blue? Grey? Green? Probably not green.
Figure from CP Models, presented as is from the pack. The rail is a bit tall, but overall very little flash and negligible mould lines.

Night Dyniaq

My entry for Spellcrow's contest! I call it "Night Dyniaq".

Nolzur's Hobgoblins

A small gift from my GF: two Hobgoblins from Nolzur's Marvelous MIniatures line by WizKids.
The pack proudly claims that these are "HD Minis" and "Paint ready out-of-the-box", but there are several visible mould lines I intend to remove first.

Freebooter Orks WIP

I bought a few more resin ork bits to finish off my Boyz sprue. As before I have a rule to have no fully plastic ork. I got different bits this time settling for a bandana pirate orc set (as opposed to hats, like last time), naked torsos and a set of peg legs I couldn't get ahold of before. I have a few more torsos than legs, as I forgot to math it out this time. All resin from Spellcrow.

Work in Progress - Dame and Dyniaq

Two things in progress right now: a sorceress from Puppetswar (inspired by Storm from X-Men) and a female Dyniaq from Spellcrow, basecoated by my lovely lady.

Human Console #2

I painted #1 a long time ago (before October 2016, when I made the SmaggMinis Tumblr it seems), I made it red. So with the #2 I went with blue.

In the meantime I painted nearly an entire set of Customeeple Objective Markers (only the crates are unpainted, and they look decent in bare HDF colour), a few terrain pieces and dozens of models. Maybe I'll paint the third one sooner than 3 years from now. Hopefully.

Model by MicroArt Studio.

Spellcrow Half-Ogre

Half-ogre (or half-giant maybe) from Spellcrow. Originally for their game Umbra Turris, but I based him on a 40mm round base so he could act as a big bruiser in D&D. Can't wait to see him throw players around!

It's good to be the DM.

Welcome to new Smagg Minis!

Hello!
This is going to be my new place to post about miniatures, miniature games and various other related things (board games maybe?).

As you can guess from the picture my main focus is Infinity, as it is my favourite miniatures game and the models are lovely (and I certainly can't do them justice). However I'm no stranger to other products, be it random fantasy models, kitbashes and conversions and even GW stuff. I also paint terrain from time to time, but boy, do I hate painting terrain.

I used to maintain a similar blog over on tumblr [link], but after their infamous policy change my main blog was hidden and a lot of people bailed. A yer or so after I feel motivated again to start rebuilding my online presence instead of puttering about on twitter and making my beloved angry.

If you want to see some short form posts, the twitter feed should be off to the side. I may also make an Instagram page if I manage to figure out their image specifications (do they have to be square?). But the lack of space for text means this will be the main site.

Cheers!
